FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Catalyst Releases Secure SocketTools TCP/IP Toolkits
Yucca Valley, CA, December 20, 2000 - Catalyst Development Corporation, providing Winsock compliant TCP/IP custom components, today announced the release of Secure SocketTools editions for their well-established collection of royalty-free controls and libraries. Secure SocketTools now supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) data connections over the internet or on local networks.
SocketTools Secure Visual Edition includes client interfaces for SSL-compliant versions of applicable protocols plus all the standard Visual Edition components. The 32-bit ActiveX (OCX) controls can be used with any visual development environments such as Visual Basic, Visual C++ and Delphi.
SocketTools Secure Library Edition includes client interfaces for SSL-compliant versions of applicable protocols plus all the standard Library Edition DLLs. Its ideal for languages such as Visual C/C++, Delphi, FoxPro, Clarion, scripting tools, or those languages which dont handle ActiveX components well (or at all).
SocketTools Secure Enterprise Edition is the all-in-one choice for rapid application development with ActiveX visual/secure visual controls plus the power and flexibility of DLLs/secure DLLs for developing core application systems. For use with virtually any Windows development environment or scripting tool, this is a two-developer license with priority voice/email support and free upgrades.
Included in the packages are the following components:
Almost all details of the standard SSL protocol are hidden within the components, enabling developers to produce secure client applications with only small additional considerations beyond those needed for non-secure versions of those same applications.
The components support synchronous (blocking) and asynchronous modes of operation and also include the ability to log the Windows Sockets function calls for debugging purposes. All are thread-safe and can be used in multithreaded containers, such as Internet Explorer. With the exception of the visually oriented controls (image viewer and terminal emulation), they can also be used as simple Automation objects without requiring that they be placed on a form or inside another container.
A full featured evaluation copy of any Secure SocketTools Edition is available for download from our web site. Once purchased, the insertion of a serial number allows for an uninterrupted development process. Catalyst provides unlimited, free technical support through their website and by e-mail. For-fee voice support is also available. All Catalyst products come with a 30-day money-back guarantee and are free of runtime licensing or royalty fees.
