Licensing Error After Upgrading SocketTools

Document ID: 100227
Products: SocketTools, All Editions, All Platforms
Last Reviewed: April 2, 2007

Summary

After upgrading to the current version of SocketTools, an error is reported that the product is not licensed or that the license will expire, even if a valid serial number has been entered.

More Information

Select the License Manager utility in the program group folder for your edition of SocketTools and follow these steps to recreate your product license information:

1. From the menu, select License | Delete and click on the Remove button. This will delete your current license information.

2. From the menu, select License | Create and enter your product serial number, exactly as listed including the dashes. A message box should be displayed which shows the current version, along with the serial number and an expiration of Never. If an expiration date is listed, then you are using a version of SocketTools prior to version 4.0 and should install the current version.

3. If you have not registered your product, select License | Register from the menu. Note that registration is not required to use the software, but you must be registered in order to receive technical support.
