ECCN is the Export Control Classification Number assigned by the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security. This number designates the level of control for a specific product. Catalyst Development products fall under one of two ECCNs:
5D992 - This classification is for software which uses encryption technology and is eligible for export to all countries, with certain exceptions. Catalyst products with this classification use the Microsoft CryptoAPI library, which is part of the Microsoft Windows base operating system.
EAR99 - This classification is for software which is not specified on the Commerce Control List. Catalyst products with this classification do not use any encryption.
LIC is the license type most appropriate for the listed ECCN. For ECCN 5D992 and EAR99 classifications no export license is required and is designated as NLR.
CCATS is the Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System. This is code number assigned by the BIS for products with an ECCN 5D002 classification. No Catalyst Development products require CCATS numbers.
ActivePatch, Catalyst File Transfer, Catalyst Internet Mail, SocketTools Secure Editions and SocketWrench Secure Edition use encryption technology which is subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and other U.S. law. In a reference to the license exception ENC under section 740.17 of the Export Administration Regulations, Catalyst Development can export its products to all countries of the world except Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. After purchase, you are responsible for the claim that your acquisition and use of the software is in compliance with these U.S. Export Administration Regulations. Applications created using Catalyst components and/or libraries may have different export restrictions and require a different Export Control Classification Number.
