The SocketTools File Transfer components enable developers to
easily integrate file transfer functionality within their
applications. The standard FTP and HTTP protocols are used for sending
and receiving files over the Internet and corporate intranets, with
support for secure connections using SSL/TLS and SSH. The product
includes both .NET and ActiveX components for 32-bit and 64-bit
development and can be used with most software development tools.
Designed specifically for rapid application development, the File
Transfer component provides a flexible, comprehensive interface
without requiring that the developer use several different components
and write additional code to integrate them. A simpler, unified
interface means fewer lines of source code, less complexity and
reduced maintenance, enabling developers to focus on their core
application.
Advanced features, such as proxy connections and secure encrypted
connections, are also part of the standard feature set of the
component. It can transfer a file with a single method, simply by
specifying a URL just as you would in a web browser. Redirection to
relocated resources is handled internally, without the need for the
application to interpret server responses.
The SocketTools File Transfer components were developed using the
core technologies in the SocketTools family of products, and are based
on a solid foundation of award-winning software which conforms to
standard protocols. The product includes example programs, a printable
Developer's Guide and Technical Reference as well as context-sensitive
online help. As with all Catalyst components, SocketTools File
Transfer is licensed royalty-free, without any runtime licensing fees
and includes unlimited technical support for licensed developers.
